Where The Wind Blows
Skills required: Teaching English as a Foreign Language
Native English speakers needed to serve the Lord as TEFL teachers. (TEFL/TESOL qualifications desirable but not mandatory.) These unpaid opportunities are available in a number of mission situations around the country for 3 month periods. (Usually no visa is required.) Some of these situations may in be locations where open evangelism is not permitted. Usually accommodation and a daily meal is provided by the host. There may also be occasional opportunities for giving private paid lessons in local towns, but as an extra activity only.
Teaching English is very much valued practical help for all ages of people, but especially children, teens and young adults, and it allows the building of friendly relationships which are an excellent environment to share one's faith. (We provide materials and guidance on dos and don'ts.)
If you wished to serve longer than 3 months, it may be possible to arrange further 3-month teaching assignments in other Eastern European countries, so dovetailing with our other teachers, on rotation. Please indicate if this is desired. Thank you.
We act as a clearing house for TEFL missionaries in the following countries: Albania, Croatia, Hungary, Moldova, Poland and Romania. Teachers serve usually at churches, missions, refugee camps, bible colleges or schools, most often by giving invaluable support for resident English teachers on the ground.
Term of Opportunity: medium to long-term
Spiritual Challenges: third culture issues
There is good public transport.
Help will be given with finding accommodation.
